At the end of 1999, a two stamp set, se-tenant, was issued illustrating
significative buildings in Montevideo, the capital city of Uruguay . Some
of these buildings are related to radio and telecomunications.. The
first stamp, at the left, in the "9", is "Palacio Salvo", the yellow one,
once the tallest building in South America. It has been home for
CX30, Radio Nacional studios-AM 1130/SW 6130 (inactive) . For years it
also housed CX 46 Radio America, MW 1450 . Atop this building, the
yellow one in the stamp, it was mounted the antenna tower for TV
channel 4, "Montecarlo". In the second stamp (R), the "2" shows what
the future headquarters building for ANTEL, (Administracion Nacional de
Telecomunicaciones, called "la torre de ANTEL" ("ANTEL's tower")
.By the way, the second "0" is formed by the drawing of the new SODRE's
new Auditorium Complex (A detail of it is shown at the right)
